Amsterdam has been known worlwide as the ‘City of Diamonds’. For instance the ‘brillant’ is a typical Amsterdam cut of diamond which is sometimes just referred as the ‘Amsterdam Cut’, and because, in Holland, we are a little bit ‘up side down’, referred to the sea level, so ‘Amsterdam Cut Side Down’ is the title of the piece.
